Actor Anupam Kher has again taken a shot back at his former friend Naseeruddin Shah during an interview with TV9 Bharatvarsh and opinioned that Naseeruddin has a problem with everyone including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli and Dileep Kumar.
“Naseeruddin Shah sahab, I saw your interview. You said some things in my praise… That I’m a clown, I shouldn’t be taken seriously, I’m a psychopath, it’s in my blood, etc. Thank you for this compliment. But I do not take you or your words seriously at all. Although I have never said anything bad about you, I now feel that despite all your success, you’ve lived a life full of frustration. If you can criticize Dilip Kumar sahab, Amitabh Bachchan sahab, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan, and even Virat Kohli — then I’m glad to be in such great company. And none of them took your comments seriously either, because we all know it’s not you — it’s the *substances* you’ve been consuming for years… You no longer know the difference between right and wrong. If saying bad things about me brings you one day of fame, I gift you that happiness. May God keep you well. — Your well-wisher, Anupam.”— Anupam Kher, responding to Naseeruddin Shah’s comments during TV9 Bharatvarsh interview
Anupam was speaking in context of the war of words which happened few years ago when Naseeruddin Shah called Anupam “A Chaaploos”. Anupam indicated that he was very hurt when his colleague spoke such words about him and opined that since Naseeruddin Shah talked badly about his lineage, he felt compelled to give a reply.
“My father, who was a clerk, was very honest. My grandfather refused to take a bribe of ₹30000 back in 1953 and he even went on to resign from that job.”— Anupam Kher, replying to Naseeruddin Shah’s accusations during TV9 Bharatvarsh interview
The veteran actors have had a cordial relation until 2018 when Anupam had started showing his pro-bjp inclination while Naseeruddin Shah has always criticised the BJP government.
Anupam was asked by the Editors where there are favouritism groups in bollywood who oppose and support different political parties to which he replied that there aren’t and opined that he has missed a lot of work because of his outspoken support for the Modi government.
