There has always been a strong debate between vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian people about who is right or wrong. Each of them thinks that the science (as well as spirituality) aligns with their perspective.

But it’s not every day that you come across a non-vegetarian who believes that vegans need professional help. Meet Saniya Mirwani, a stand-up comedian who is viraling on social media for her opinion on vegans, where she pities on them for requiring professional help.

Although Saniya considers herself as a stand up comic artist, her controversial opinion came on the podcast.

Her belief in non-vegetarian food is so strong that at one part in the video, Saniya claims about sneaking in non-vegetarian food to her school mates.

“I used to sneak in like chicken nuggets, things like that into school and give it to my vegetarian friends and help them.” Samiya claims it as “God’s Work”

She even opinioned about having sympathy for vegans as they require professional help according to her.

“When I go out with like vegetarian friends, I’m like Grow Up. Just Eat Meat. I just think you can’t be a fully grown adult being by (saying) Give me Paneer. …..I think Vegans are too far gone. We can’t help them. And I don’t like to make fun of vegans because I truly believe, like, they need professional help. And you don’t make fun of people who need professional help. So it’s all right, it’s all gonna be okay.”
— Saniya said during the podcast with The Having Said That Show

Whether her strong dislike on Vegans and Vegetarians is actually true or she only portrayed it on the podcast is something which only Saniya can know.

When we checked her Instagram profile, it reads “Parental Guidance Advised”, “I am a**hole”. She has nearly 92K followers and got married to her long time friend recently.

As per her Facebook profile, Saniya Mirwani is from Mumbai and did her graduation from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. She is a filmmaker and writer based between New York, Toronto and Mumbai.

Saniya opinioned in the podcast that she has forayed into stand up comic recently and started with open mic up in 2024 and that her first attempt went horribly wrong.

The podcast contained some of the most bizzare statements like “I think people who are complaining about their lactose intolerance need to be shamed because I don’t think its as natural”

Social Media Perspective

The clip of the podcast where she is talking about vegans was uploaded on Reddit and the Redditors have strongly criticized Saniya for her comments in the podcast. Many agreed that her comment was Rage Bait in order to get attention.

One comment even mimicked Saniya when he said that “Let’s not make fun of her, she is absolutely right. She needs professional help, and it’s not good to make fun of someone like that.”
