In a heartwarming episode of Who’s the Boss, this time the guests were Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka Raina.
And the duo revealed some new information about each other, especially about how Suresh Raina proposed her.
Suresh Raina revealed that he had known Priyanka from her childhood days n Muradnagar, but the duo didn’t saw each other a lot at that time.
Priyanka’s dad was a Maths teacher and Suresh was his student. They only saw each other a few times in their childhood days after but after cementing his place in Team India, Suresh got heavily involved in his cricket career.
The duo didn’t meet each other for a long time, until in 2008 where they recognised each other at the Bengaluru airport. They exchanged their numbers and again went their seperate path, only to be united after a long 8 years around 2015. This time, Suresh had decided that he wanted to propose to Priyanka.
He took a 32 hour flight from Perth to Dubai and from Dubai to London, where he proposed his lady love.
“I said, ‘Let me just go. If I don’t go, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.’ So, I took a flight from Perth to Dubai. From Dubai to London. It was almost like a 48-hour flight, or maybe 30–32 hours. It was a crazy long journey.
But when we met in London, I didn’t even have a visa. I had a UK visa. She had a UK visa too. So I said, ‘Let’s meet in London.’ When I saw her walking towards me, even the breeze was acting up!”

The couple indicates that Comprimises in Marriage is a must
Before saying yes to Suresh, Priyanka had a condition that she would always want to work and not sit at home after the marriage. For the people who don’t know, Priyanka did her engineering from India and worked in the finance and banking sector in Amsterdam before her marriage.
“See, he told me, when we were getting married, there was only one thing I told him, I’ll move back to India, but I won’t stop working. I want to keep working. I’ll not be able to sit at home doing nothing. And he was like ‘absolutely no problem with that’.” Priyanka said during the podcast.
Priyanka Raina hinted that every marriage is a work and that sometimes she made the comprimises and other times Suresh did.
“But if I talk about the changes, I think everyone’s life changes after marriage. And what really matters is how mentally and emotionally strong you are as a person. Because marriages are hard. No matter how glamorous, fancy, or loving it may seem. But living together is completely different from living an independent life. And that’s exactly what happened with us also. Every day, we were learning. Every day, we were growing. Sometimes he had to compromise. Sometimes I had to compromise. So, there was just so much going on. And then we had kids. We evolved as human beings, as individuals.”
