Rajiv Shukla is an Indian politician, former journalist and a cricket administrator who is currently the vice-president of BCCI.

Early Life

He was born on 13th September 1959 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh to Ram Kumar Shukla and Shanti Devi Shukla. After his schooling, he did his LL.B and M.A. He is married to Anuradha Prasad Shukla and has one daughter named as Vaanya shukla.

  • His wife is Anuradha Prasad who is the sister of BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad.
  • He joined BCCI way back in 1991.
  • He used to work for the Zee channel from the 1990s to early 2000s for the show Ru-Ba-Ru
  • In his book Scars of 1947, he mentions that Pakistan Cricket Board used to support the BCCI in the ICC matters during the presidentship of Jagmohan Dalmiya.
  • He was the first person to interview Narendra Modi. (5:18 minute)
  • Sonia Gandhi’s first interview in Hindi language was also taken by him.
  • He claims that the administrators in the BCCI do not take any salary.
  • When asked if he likes to play the game Ludo, he jokingly stated that he makes other play the game!!!
  • During an interview with Lallantop, he revealed that Sachin Tendulkar and other seniors were hesistant to tour Pakistan in 2004 due to security reasons.

  • During his journalistic career, he once interview Kanshi Ram, who broke the lapel and wire and left the interview when the topic of Babri Masjid was touched.
  • He resigned from the BCCI vice-president ship when the IPL betting scandal emerged in 2013. However, he made the comeback to the same post two years later.
  • The wife of Riyaz Bhati, the person suspected as an aide of Dawood Ibrahim filed a rape-molestation charge in 2021 on prominent crickters and celebrities including Rajeev Shukla.
