Raj Shamani was born in a sindhi family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh in the year 1997. His Father name is Naresh Shamani whereas his mother’s name is not known yet on the internet. He recently moved to Mumbai almost 3 years ago and has been mostly engaged in creating podcasts with various celebrities.

Raj Shamani family has 4 members. Dad, Mom, Shamani himself and his younger brother. His brother was an athelete before. Speaking about his younger brother, Shamani says that he used to wake up at 4 a.m. to train. A Nigerain coach used to come to train him for football.

When Raj moved to Bombay almost 4 years back, he dedicated his time as an angel investor in many companies for 1 year. He worked as a consultant also during this time. During an interview with Karishma Mehta, Raj Shamani revealed that he has a girlfriend and is in deeply love with her. He talked about that his lady love keeps him on his toes for his professional work. At one time, he also opined that he and his girlfriend made a rule to never think about breaking up whenever fight used to happen.

He went to a school called National Public School. In a podcast, Shamani himself stated his school wasn’t famous in Indore and that 90% of people don’t even know about that school. His cousin, who are around same age as of Raj Shamani used to be toppers in their schools with 90 – 95% marks whereas Shamani was a below average student as per his own admission. His highlight was that he never got failed in the school exams. Apart from being below average in studies, Shamani was also not good at sports also.

Raj Shamani was good at story telling. He developed the skill as he needed to give a presentation in college. He was so nervous about it that he prepared for the presentation for 30 days, practicing daily for 4 minutes every day. The presentation went well, and Shamani got a good response from the people for his storytelling after which he applied to United Nations under the program “Youth Representative Program for Young leaders”.

He cleared all the seven rounds. He did it by cheating. As per Shamani himself, he would find answers of the questions given in the form and would majorly copy paste from answers available through Google search with very little addition of his own perspective. This is how he got selected to speak at United Nations at their Vienna headquarters at the age of 17.

As he was about to deliver his well-prepared speech at the UN, Raj froze and forget his content. In order to gain some momentum, he started his speech by saying “Jai Hind” and said in Hindi language that some of what he will utter will not be understood by all. Hearing this line, an Indian guy, sitting back, clapped and the entire crowd started clapping too. The nervousness went away and Shamani recollected his speech content and delievered it.

His parents are not well-versed with English language. Therefore, when Shamani started making Youtube videos, his mom and dad mainly used to criticise him for being unpresentable in the video. When Shamani worked on his appearance for the podcasts, his parents were very happy and encouraged him to work harder. This is when Shamani decided to come to Mumbai. He arrived in Mumbai on 3rd January 2021. His parents were not happy with this. The parents resort to every measure in order to discourage Shamani from going to Mumbai.

Shamani is very close to his parents. According to him, he and his dad used to talk on almos every topic till 4 am whereas with his mom, he used to enjoy talking for hours in a day. Raj feels that his podcast career has given him lots of success but at the cost of staying away from the family.

For his Podcast success, Shamani heavily credits Paritosh Anand, his former production head for suggesting Shamani to speak in a natural manner in a way that he is not conscious of the camera recording the shoot but is simply enjoying conversation with the guest.

Shamani himself has stated jokingly that he was shameless and was under confident about his abilities. He did not had a good command on English. However, Shamani has overcome both of those traits now.

He used to had inferiority complex from people who considered way above his class. However, today he realizes that every person, no matter how successful he is, is always looking to upgrade their social circle.
