Actress Neena Gupta, who was in conversation with Humans of Bombay, shared some interesting take on social acceptance of an older man dating a much younger woman.
According to the veteran actress, the older women dating younger man is still not socially acceptable.
The star cast of Metro In Dino was in conversation with the Humans of Bombay.
Sitting next to her, Anupam Kher opinioned that the likes of Richard Gere and Brad Pitt could be seen dating an extremely younger woman in their personal life.
Neena Gupta did not take any name but opinioned that in India also, it is societally accepted for the older man to date a very younger woman, while the vice-versa is not accepted with a big heart.
Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta pointed out that this scenario happens in film stories also because that’s how it is in real life.
They opinioned that it is like a hypocrisy in film stories where older heros in their 50s are paired with very young heroines while the opposite is rarely ever seen.
Adding to the conversation, Neena Gupta jokingly points that a 70 year old man may get a 16 year old woman but will she get 16 year olds in her 70s (For her personal life)?
“A 70-year-old man can still get a 16-year-old girl but will I get 16 year olds in my 70s? I hope it doesn’t happen otherwise it will be chaos. But it is a hypocrisy that male actors of my age are playing the role of a hero whereas I am being offered roles of grandmother.”
