In what could be termed as a turnaround performance, India handed down a thumping defeat to the Aussies at a venue where Australia is known to annihilate their opponents.

While all the Australian batters are under immense criticism from fans and experts, the attention is mostly on Marnus Labuschagne who got out akwardly in the second innings. Labuschagne looked to leaving the balls outside the off stump as much as possible until one of them from Bumrah came back sharply and the right hander was trapped LBW. Labuschange did not offered a shot as he was expecting the ball to straighten up or seam away after pitching.

For the people who don’t know, when a batsman does not offer a shot, the point of impact is not taken into account for LBW dismissal.

During the post-match interview with the broadcasters Star Sports, Siraj revealed that Marnus Labuschagne, although tried to portray his confidence by leaving the balls, he was actually under immense pressure.

“Vo Hamesha itna pressure mein khel rha hai. Vo jitna ho sake ball chorne ke liye khel rha hai. Vo khelne ke liye nahin dekh raha hai. Jaise defence karke dikha rha hai ki mein bahut accha confident hun, vo confidence mein nahin hai. Vo pressure mein hai.” Siraj said while talking to Jatin Sapru after the match.

Translated in English : –He is playing under pressure. He is trying to leave the balls as much as possible. He is not looking to make contact with the ball. With the way of his defence, he is trying to show that he is confident but he is not. He is under pressure

India declared their 2nd innings before 30 mins of Stumps of Day 3, making it challenging for the tired Australian batters to survive the fresh new ball from Bumrah and Siraj for last 5 overs of the day. India got three wickets and Siraj and Labuschagne had few intense moments during that time.
