Latest News: – Major Gaurav Arya is a retired Indian army officer who is known for his geopolitical analysis. He was born in the year 1972 in Joshimath and served in the army from 1993 – 1999 i.e. for almost six years.
Who is Major Gaurav Arya’s Father ?
You may not know but Major Gaurav Arya father’s Shri Daya Kishore Arya was an IPS Officer who retired in the year 1996. After his retirement, his father worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross, for the next 20 years. ICRC, is a non-profit organization for providing aid during armed conflict or other violence. He recovered from Covid in 2020 but was hospitalized in 2021 due to kidney issues. He left for heavenly abode in 2022.

Army Career
As per Gaurav Arya, he had a large ego and brat attitude. On top of that he was often perceived by others as the son of a powerful personality (as his father was an IPS). When he joined the army for training at OTA, he had shoulder length hairs and small hanging earrings. He reveals that his ego was crushed by the OTA training on the first day itself and his head was completely shaved. In his own words, “I went there like a rockstar“.
Gaurav Arya upon knowing that he had cleared SSB, celebrated far beyond the normal. His waist size had gone to 38 and his weight shot up to 92 kgs before he arrived for training at the OTA, Madras. After five months of rigorous training, his weight came down to 57 kgs while his waist shrink to 27 inches.
Major Gaurav Arya admits that he wanted to quit the army as he was failing every test that OTA had in place. He is grateful of his three platoon mates who supported him through the difficult phase.

He admits regretting every day for leaving the army. He was advised by the Commanding Officer and other army seniors to not take retirement but he made his decision to quit due to lung ailment that had developed after his fall accident in the snow.
Early Retirement
Major Gaurav Arya admits that it was his stupidity that he didn’t paid heed to his seniors who advised him to wait near Shipkila in the Lahaul-Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh. Trying to cross, he fell from the mountainside and gor buried in the snow for almost 6 hours before being rescued by his battalion. Major states that he felt sleepy while being in the snow but in reality, his body was shutting down. In the mean time, his team mates were throwing snow at him in order to keep him awake.
While he survived, that incident induced lung-related ailment, thereby causing him to opt for early retirement. He deeply regrets his stupidity and not heeding to Subedar Major who warned him three times to take rest instead and not take chance with nature.
Gaurav Arya Income
During an interview, he stated that he earns a lot in a month which he could have never earned while being in the army but he misses the army for its culture and ethos. Multiple sources on the Internet suggests that Gaurav Arya could easily be making above Rs 5 Lakhs a month from different sources.
