The show blew us away with its intense storytelling, gripping visuals, and the sheer unpredictability of every game the players were thrust into.
To say that the writing was masterful would be an understatement. It brought so many twists and perspective to the scenario that made it difficult for us to anticipate the player’s reaction in every game. The weaving in twist after twist kept the viewers on the edge of their seats.
Will Squid Game Return Again?
While the show’s creator had previously suggested that this would be the final season, the finale hinted otherwise.
The closing segment that aired after the final episode made it absolutely clear: the door hasn’t been completely shut for the series to be renewed for new season.
In the segment titled “Squid Game in Conversation” that could be viewed immediately after the final episode, the writer Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed that they’ve deliberately kept an option open for the story to continue emphasizing a fictional but realistic perspective (from the nature of game) that while capitalism may be brought to stop in one place, it often thrives elsewhere.

In the final episode, we could see that the Frontman has successfully escaped (along with his team!). Viewers were expecting his role to meet a fateful end which would have aligned with the thought of ending the series for good. However, he remains alive and it looks like the game will continue in other parts of the world. This subtle yet significant choice strongly suggests that Squid Game could return once again.
