Madhur Virli is a well-known standup comedian, who interestingly is also an IIT Graduate. He was born in Kerala and hinted in a podcast that his year of birth is around 1997, making his age 27-28 years as of May 2025.

Although Madhur was born in Kerala, his family is of Punjabi origin. Due to his father’s job, the family used to stay in Kerala where Madhur spent the first nine years of his life. Talking about his father in a podcast, he revealed that he lost him at an early age and the reason was a heart attack.

Fortunately for him, he did not bear the brunt of livelihood earner as Madhur has two elder sisters and one elder brother named Mohit Virli who took care of financials of the family.

You may not know but Madhur’s brother, Mohit, went through a difficult phase of his life when he fought a rare type of blood cancer in 2021 at the young age of 25. Luckily, he recovered from it. Madhur does not joke when he says that his brother is extremely intelligent. He is a graduate from IIT Roorkee in Electrical Engineering.

Madhur did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Delhi. After his schooling, he attempted IIT Jee exam but got extremely low rank. He took a drop year, appeared again in 2016 and got a far better JEE rank of 3718 with total marks of 144 Ref..

To his luck, Madhur got the admission in IIT Delhi in the year 2016 in the branch of Biochemical engineering and Biotechnology, which he jokingly hints as one of the least preffered engineering branch in India.

While preparing for IIT, Madhur had also given BITS Pilani exams and had secured 340 marks which ensured that he had a fall back option in case he would not be able to clear JEE exams.
