  • YouTube Refuses To Reverse The Ban Upon Appeal

An Indian news anchor who is known for running KnockingNews and Girjesh Vashishta YouTube channels has recently announced startling that his channel KnockingNews has been banned by YouTube after being hacked.

As per Girjesh, his channel was hacked and crypto-currency related videos were uploaded on his channel by the hacker. Girjesh claims that he had informed Youtube via mail about everything but no resolution was provided.

The YouTube algorithm, upon detecting not-so-safe content on the channel, banned the channel. Girjesh, although shocked, was assured that the channel would be reinstated. And therefore, he appealed the termination verdict but to his horror, Youtube refused to reverse the decision. The channel had nearly two million subscribers.

While criticizing Youtube’s laid back response to the issue, Girjesh also believes that some powerful influential sources may have wanted his channel to be blocked as he used to talk about the dictatorship working of the governments of major countries.

Girjesh was able to provide the update on KnockingNews through his other channel by the name of “Girjesh Vashishtha”.

This isn’t the first time the anchor has fallen victim to a cyberattack. He shared that his Facebook page, which had over 4 lakh followers, was previously hacked as well. And to make matters worse, when he reached out for support, Facebook refused to help—allegedly assuming that he might have done the hack himself or have been involved in it and was only reporting to FB authorities to appear innocent.

Many prominent Youtubers in the past like Shwetabh Gangwar, Mufti Anas (Islamic YouTube Channel), Scammer Payback, Corridor Crew and etc. had been victim of account hacking, however, they were able to regain control of their channel through Youtube’s help.

But what is more surprising in Girjesh’s case is that YouTube decided not to overturn the ban despite being informed immediately by the owner that the channel has not only been hacked but has been uploaded with 20 -25 cryptocurrency-related videos by the hacker. All the drama happened within a matter of 24 hours.
