Dipak Nanda (also known as Indian Rock) is a famous bodybuilder from India. As per his interview in 2018, he was born in the year1987 and is currently 41 years of age at the time of April 2025. He has been competing since 2016.
Family and Upbringing
Dipak Nanda was born in a poor family. He used to work as a car washer from 8th standard and earn Rs 500 per month. He was fond of exercising and therefore he started going to local gym arena at an early age. Dipak has seen a harsh phase of life when he had to work as a newspaper delivery, housekeeping & waiter duties, and sales in Delhi shopping malls (Shopper’s Stop, Citizen watches).
Relationship and Marriage
He met his wife Rupal Nanda through Facebook after she sent him a friend request. The conversation started and the duo met after some time.
Recalling the time when both met for the first time, Rupal opines that Dipak acknowleged that he had a crush on Rupal’s friend who he believed was attractive but with time, Dipak fell in love with Rupal as she was caring.
Dipak states that it was Rupal who used to provide finance for his meals initially and suggested him that he should join a gym as a trainer. After dating for several years, the couple eloped and got married secretly on 15th October 2011 in a temple in Jalandhar.
When Dipak came back, his parents again retaliated. However Dipak was adamant and then the duo wed formally on 3rd December 2011 against the wishes for their parents. Dipak is 2 years younger to his wife.
In an interview with Tarun gill, her wife stated that she refrains from physical intimacy with her husband in the last three months to competition.
The couple tried for a child but couldn’t succeed due to Rupal’s miscarriage on multiple occasions. After enduring several miscarriages, the couple decided to stop trying for another pregnancy. In October 2024, the couple announced that they were expecting a child. In January, they were blessed with a baby girl who they named as Shakti.
Die Hard Fan of Dwayne Johnson
Dipak Nanda is not bald but head keeps his head shaved voluntarily. Dipak is a die hard fan of “The Rock” aka Dwayne Johnson. When his wife earnestly told him that he kind of resembles the Hollywood icon, the compliment struck a chord. Feeling happy about the complement, Dipak thought of replicating The Rock’s looks. He shaved his head and got a tattoo. Dipak’s fan boy moment came true when at one time, Dwayne Johnson sent a heartfelt message to him on social media.
