The anger sentiment in the public had been brewing for a long time, as Aamir Khan had not publicly expressed any anger or disappointment toward the Turkish government. Fans were visibly upset that a big superstar like Aamir Khan was seen visiting the Turkish First Lady and appearing cordial, despite the tense diplomatic relations between India and Turkey.

The backlash intensified as fans questioned his silence on Turkey’s political stance while maintaining friendly ties during the high-profile visit.

I was the first one to take Pakistan’s name in my movie : Aamir Khan

One of the crucial things that the netizens have observed with Aamir in recent years is the fact he is rarely seen acknowledging Pakistan as the sponsor of terrorism.

His lack of public criticism of Pakistan led many fans to question his patriotism and accuse him of selective silence, especially because other public figures were more vocal.

There is a belief amongst netizens that superstarts often refrain from speaking against Pakistan and other country (Especially when they share a strained relation with India). Aamir attempted to address and clarify this particular criticisms.

As per Aamir, he was the first one in the film fraternity to take Pakistan’s name in the movie Sarfarosh.

Aamir said that the censor board previously didn’t allow Indian filmmakers to openly refer to Pakistan as the one responsible for terrorism, and they were instructed to use the term “the neighboring country.”

Aamir opined and requested the CBFC officials that if a minister like L.K. Advani could take Pakistan’s name as a sponsor of terrorism in Parliament, then why couldn’t filmmakers be allowed to say it in their films.

The film Sitaare Zameen Par is slated to be released on 20th June 2025. While the movie may not be sequel to Taaree Zameen par but is likely to revolve around an issue which many childrens face.
