Demand For Arrest
Her deleted post included message about EID along with a cow probably going to be taken for slaughter. One has to note that cow is a sacred animal for the Hindu community.
Netizens are demanding the arrest of Aarfa Khanam and questions are being raised as to why she has not been arrested yet when someone like Sharmishtha Panoli was arrested who allegedly hurted the sentiments of the minorities.
From her FB posts, one can see that Aarfa is a strong critique of the Modi and Yogi government.

Netizens have also pointed out Aarfa’s statement when Sharmistha posted a defamatory video about Islam. At that time, Aarfa Khanam reacted very strongly and even voiced in her opinion where she criticized people who speak against the idols of a certain community. But people are questioning as to why Aarfa didn’t considered religious guidelines when posting the EID message which hurted the sentiments of the Hindu community.

Aarfa Khanam — No Stranger to the Spotlight
Aarfa has been in the news before also. Back in 2022, when bulldozer action was underway by MCD in Delhi, Aarfa strongly protested.
At that time, despite having fractured feet, she climbed onto bulldozers and stood in defiance of a controversial anti-encroachment drive by the MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi).
Her pictures went viral on social media, with many calling her a “sherni”.
Aarfa was born in Delhi and her dad is a doctor. From the childhood, Aarfa was inclined towards social work and started working with NGOs by the 10th grade. She studied law in Noida and has since fought cases related to women’s rights across various courts.
In 2014, she founded an NGO named Pairo Mein Badte Kadam, providing free education in Delhi’s slums and raising awareness about government schemes.
Aarfa also runs a “Roti Bank” and “Kapda Bank” for the underprivileged. During the Shaheen Bagh demolition drive, she alleged that no prior notice or roadmap was given and that Muslims were being unfairly targeted.
She was later detained briefly by the police under IPC section 65 but released the same evening. This was not her first protest—she had also supported the earlier Shaheen Bagh anti-CAA protests.
