Alaya F on her Schooling, Education and Part-Time Job

As per Alaya, she didn’t have any aspirations to come in front of the camera. For schooling, she went to Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai till12th Grade. She did IGCSC and IB and then went to New York.

As per Alaya, she used to have severe social anxiety during her teenage years, where she would think everyone was watching and talking about her. At one time, she was so shy to ask the teacher to go to the washroom that she peed in the classroom while sitting. She overcame this social anxiety later on.

For her graduation from the acting course, she attended New York Film Academy. Alaya had a difficult time there in managing money and admitted that she was broke most of the time.

She opines that parents would refuse to send her more money than her monthly allowance. She indicates that she used to get $400 a month from parents as an allowance. In order to earn more money, Alaya even did babysitting for $10 – 12 hourly rate. She opines that she is very good with kids.

Alaya reveals that her effort and commitment while training to debut made her almost anti-social as she used to be busy the whole time. She had attended film school before debuting in acting.

Alaya F on her Parent’s Divorce and Dad’s Second Marriage

It is rare to see a family where children see amicable end of their parent’s marriage. Its even rarer for those children to have a great bond with their step-parent and with their respective kids. But if you see Alaya F’s parents journey, you may it find unbelievably odd on how amicably the situation has sorted out for them.

Alaya’s parents, Pooja Bedi and Farhan Ebrahim FurnitureWala, got married in 1994 but separated in 2003. Alaya in her own words opined that things weren’t going good between their parents which is why they divorced. However, Alaya emphasizes that her parents handled the seperation very well. You would be surprised to know that Pooja Bedi attended Alaya’s dad second marriage and she also shares great bond with Alaya’s Step mother.

Alaya opines that the relationship with exes (referring to wives of Kabir Bedi and boyfriends of her mother Pooja Bedi) has always been amicable in the family. Alaya’s step-mother’s name is Laila Khan Furniturewalla, and she shares a great bond with her. Laila is the sister of Fardeen Khan and daughter of famous actor Feroz Khan. She married Farhan Ebrahim Furniturewala in 2010 and has a son by the name of Zaan Furniturewala, born in 2015.

Alaya indicated that she had dated when she was in New York. As per her admission, she used Tinder a lot during that time.

Alaya revealed in an interview that she has had only one proper relationship till now and that she was with him for 5 years. She clearly states that she does not want to be in a casual relationship or situationship. When asked about the type of guys that she likes, Alaya opined that she does not like pretty boys and prefer masculine looking men who may look intimidating with a good heart.

In an interview, she stated that she was single and that she can be a very good girlfriend. She has more friends from outside than from the film industry.

Alaya F Surgery

Alaya is extremely easy on the eyes. And its hard to believe that someone like her would have any body-image issues. But Aliya had that. She didn’t like her knees earlier.

At one point in time, netizens spread rumors that Alaya may have used lip injections for fuller lips before debuting in the film industry. Alaya F denied all that during that time. Very recently, Alaya again had iterated that she may never opt for plastic surgery as she is very afraid to go under the knife. She jokingly says that if she gets done something, she will share it with the world, just like her mother Pooja Bedi, who time and again shares selfies about her plastic surgeries like Botox treatment.

Her mother often posts on Instagram about getting Botox done. Alaya also opines that the family prefers not to talk if someone has done cosmetic procedures as they don’t like to lie but would rather avoid such conversation, indicating that having done cosmetic procedures may not be taboo in the family.

Fitness Enthusiast

Alaya is a fitness enthusiast and maintains herself very well even when she has PCOS, which makes her weight gain easier and lose weight really hard. Most of her Instagram videos related to exercise and fitness rake in millions of views. She believes in Face Yoga. One of her face scultping videos got nearly 10 M views.

Alaya believes that exercising should be fun, and this is why she adopts various ways to do exercises. She used to hate working out earlier. She doesn’t indulge in alcohol and she finds it difficult to meditate.

From Privilege to Persistence: Alaya F on Family, Fame, and Finding Her Voice

The talk of nepotism has always been there in Bollywood. However, what people fail to realize is that being a nepo kid doesn’t necessarily guarantee success or even an easy journey. Talking about her own struggle, Alaya acknowledges her priviliges and parent’s support when they supported her financially before. She admits that she got to meet influential people in the industry because of her parent’s connections.

She believes that while her struggle in the industry is real, the outsiders face more struggle. She auditioned for nearly two years before getting her first break in Jawaani Jaanemann in 2020. After her debut film, although she received praise, she didn’t get any work for the next 3 years. She is a strong believer in the law of attraction.

She considers herself similar to her mother. She credits her mother for allowing Alaya to ask questions and to have a point of view.

Alaya opines that she has grown up in an environment where women would have strong opinions. And that her brother would often ponder how much quieter the men are in the family as compared to the women.

She is blamed for being overly positive. While she used to be inactive on social media before the pandemic, she admits that her shift to social media was a “desperate attempt” to stay relevant after her debut film Jawaani Jaaneman.
