It appears that Ranya Rao is unlikely to get relief soon as reports are emerging that she has been denied bail even by the sessions court. The bail order will come on 27th March. Earlier, the special court had denied her bail. Even her accomplice Tarun Konduru Raju was also denied bail as the DRI stated in the court that Raju had attempted to flee India when he came to know about Ranya Rao’s arrest. It should be noted that Tarun Konduru Raju is a US citizen.
The final probe report has been submitted to the government and the report claims that Ranya Rao’s step father Ramachandra Rao had colluded with Airport officials to violate check protocols that previously helped Ranya to escape from the airport with the smuggled gold.

IPS Ramachandra Rao, the step-father of Ranya Rao had earlier alleged that he is not in contact with her. While he denied any knowledge about Ranya’s gold smuggling activities, he was sent on compulsory leave.
“I was not aware of any of these things. I don’t want to say anything more. She is not living with us… she is living separately with her husband.”

According to the DRI lawyer Madhu Rao, the actress has confessed about receiving money through the Hawala network. The lawyer has also submitted evidences to the court which suggest that the actress was involved in the illegal transfer of money.
On March 13, 2025, Times Now released a video citing insider sources, reporting that a “mystery politician” is under investigation for potential involvement in a gold smuggling racket.
At the Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, the actress was caught in possession of 14.2 kg of gold by the DRI officials.
Ranya Rao is a South Indian Actress who was recently arrested by DRI for Gold smuggling from Dubai. Numerous reports emerge that the actress travelled nearly 30 times to Dubai last year and 15 times in the month of February which raised alarm bells in DRI authorities who were therefore constantly keeping an eye on her travel.
Husband Jatin Hukkeri Denies Knowledge of Ranya Rao’s Gold Smuggling
Ranya Rao’s architect husband Jatin Hukkeri has denied any knowing of Ranya Rao’s Gold smuggling activities. The husband in his petition has said that the couple started having issues just after a month in their marriage and therefore, there was no transparency or communication in their relationship.
